Dancing in December

We finished 2008 with two of our best gigs of the year. On Friday 12th December we were welcomed back by the staff of Tozers Solicitors who took to the floor for a night of dancing at their Christmas Party. Some people were more full of the festive ‘spirit’ than others, and everyone had a great night!

On Saturday 13th December we were delighted to be invited to play for the guests of John and Gaynor Davey as they celebrated their wedding in Okehampton. The Conservative Club was packed with family and friends, all wishing Mr and Mrs Davey well in their marriage. Everyone was in a celebratory mood, with the lady guests doing some interesting moves to ‘Wipe Out’, and the Groom and friends doing some pretty spectacular dancing to One Step Beyond. CONGRATULATIONS John and Gaynor.

Late Summer Music…

On September 20th it was a fabulous evening as we joined the guests of Rob and Katie by the lake at Cannonteign Falls. Everyone had had a lovely day, and we provided the music as the guests danced into the night.

On October 4th, we played at the Kenn Cricket Club end of season party. Everyone enjoyed a meal, speeches, prize giving and some dancing. This was our 2nd year back, and it was great to see you all again - thanks for inviting us.

We recently received a thankyou card from Rob & Katie which we wanted to share:

Summer Fun

It’s been a great summer so far. On 14th June we headed over to Exton to rock the neighbourhood at the Cooks summer garden party. It was a gorgeous evening, and everyone was in the mood for dancing. A big hello to and thankyou to everyone who was at the party - we had a great night.

On 21st June we had a good old get together at the Ley Arms to celebrate the longest day. It was great to see so many people, old faces and new, young and old all enjoying the music. We obvioulsy put on a good show, with pleanty of enquiries about booking us for future wedding celebrations and parties.

On July 12th we spent a beautiful summers evening at Starcross Sailing Club, providing the music for their summer ball. The dancefloor was packed througout the whole evening and everyone seemed to have a great night. Thanks to all at the club for making us feel so welcomed… we had a great evening!

May Celebrations

It’s been a busy time for the band, fitting in three gigs in two weekends. We started our May celebrations in Exmouth with the students and staff from Rolle College (University of Plymouth Exmouth Campus) where we were all biding a fond farewell to the site before the big move to Plymouth. The following week we were playing at the Millbrook House Ball, celebrating 40 years of Occupational Therapy in Exeter, another site which is sadly closing this summer. Both these balls were filled with lots of finely dressed folk, enjoying a lovely evening and dancing to the band. We wish all the students lots of luck in their exams - you’ve all worked (and partied!) really hard.

Our final gig in May was celebrating the wedding of Chris and Natalie Dyson at Cadhay House. We joined with family and friends of the happy couple to party the night away. Rosie’s Corset would like to say a huge Hello and Thank you to everyone who saw us at this wedding… it was definitely one of our best nights ever. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HAPPY COUPLE

Happy Birthday Jo Legg!

On Saturday 12th April 2008 we spent a fun-filled evening at Padbrook Park, Collumpton. Family and friends of Jo Legg turned out in force to help celebrate her 30th Birthday – a great night seemed to be had by all. At the end of the night the dance floor was packed, and we were joined on stage by the birthday girl (and mum Jane) to entertain the guests. It was great meeting you all.
